Admittedly I am neither a registered Republican or Democrat.
If I was a Democrat though, I would be very troubled with tonight results in the Georgia Sixth Congressional District election between (R) Karen Hendel and (D) Jon Ossoff special runoff. Despite pumping $30 million into Ossoff's campaign, it was in vein. Republican Karen Handel won. With this result, it rings a very fascinating question..... Why do Democrats keep losing elections? Despite the Resistance which has been effective as a national voice. An unpopular President in the White House. A congress with an GOP majority who themselves are so unpopular their own town halls have been nothing but filled with disruptions and anger from constituents in their own base. Yet Republicans keep winning elections. Why is that? I have my own theories. But none moreso than the fact that the Democratic Party STILL does not have their own house in order. How can actually expect to lead a progrsssive movement when they themselves have own stark divisions within their leadership ranks. Could tonight's results be a peek into what 2018 may look like? Nothing should be assumed at this point. Regardless of Russia, health care, climate change and rhetoric, Republicans are winning elections. Democrats better figure that shit out. |
