So a few months ago my family and I decided to just stop buying packages of Zephyrhills 24 pack waters. For starters a money waster which I discovered in the months after. The plastic bottles is also bad for the environment and we did not want to continue contributing to that.
As a result my wife Lauren invested in personal water bottles for the family. Both my kids love it. The transition has worked for everyone. Except me. For some reason because I’ve been so used to drinking out of plastic bottles throughout my life, the adjustment has been much tougher. Much of that is due to convenience. I mean it’s simple. I’m thirsty and crave water? Grab a bottle, open and have at it. Simple and easy. During his quarantine however Lauren has started upping her water intake where she now includes drinking it with slices of lemon inside her bottle. I myself already have a problem with the amounts of sugar I love to drink. Especially soda. Let’s be frank. My soda addiction is and has been a problem for damn near decades. And as I approach middle age it’s become very hard to get away from it. As a result Lauren got me my own personal water bottle for my 40th birthday. But not just any bottle. A bottle to where I can keep track and hold myself accountable for. Plus as silly as it sounds it will bond us. My vow is to get healthier physically as I age. For my kids. My family. But mainly for me. Increasing my H2O is a good starting point for me. |
