Lots of people don’t get picks right. It’s the nature of the beast. No one is perfect.
But then there is the bombastic personality in ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith.
Now you might ask why is he a topic of discussion?
Well while I would for the most part consider him a well informed and entertaining member of the sports media, apparently his penchant for predicting NBA Finals winners isn’t one of his fortes. In fact it’s on record that Stephen A. Smith hasn’t picked an NBA Finals matchup on record correctly since 2010.
Now I’m not writing this blog to chastise him or make fun of the man many refer to as ” Screamin A”. In fact I’ll admit that I am a long time fan of his (outside of First Take of course).
But as I always tell you folks, I am mostly here for the fun.
Here is the video mashup of the last six NBA Finals picks that he got absolutely wrong on camera.
Sometimes all of us in the media take this thing way too seriously. Quite frankly it annoys me that many in this business are more obsessed with being right instead of being more transparent and authentic.
But hey — that’s just me.
