I really didn't plan on writing anything for a few days but some rules are made to be broken. Plus it's really hard to keep my NBA playoff excitement inside. I mean seriously you can only do so many podcasts. Not to say I don't enjoy doing them cause believe me I do. Blogging however is more expressive on many fronts no matter how you slice it.
Or chop it. Or whatever. Nonetheless....I love to write. And the opening day of the 2012 playoffs left alot to talk about. And you know this......maaaaan!!! I dont care if you are not a fan of the Chicago Bulls. Watching Derrick Rose go down with a torn ACL Saturday afternoon injury was something no pure NBA basketball wants to see happen. It does not matter whether you are a fan of the Miami Heat or the Boston Celtics or whatever. If you want your team to prove it is the best in the conference you want to beat each and any team you challenge at full strength. It is a sad story to say the least. Now....speaking basketball wise while I did predict Chicago to eek out the series over Philly in 7, who the heck was I really kidding. The Sixers in Game 1 reminded me why I need to stop overthinking certain playoff matchups which I can be a sucker for. Two things I have to remember..... 1. This isn't the NHL where there is competitive balance 2. They are a # 8 seed for a reason. Can I change my pick? Bulls in 6 (even w/o D-Rose) - The Miami Heat did exactly what I said would happen once the playoffs did start. In my eyes Miami's season started this weekend. I honestly did expect them to make a statement vs. the Knicks. I've said all season long and I will continue to beat this drum till either they make a early playoff exit or I attend the parade at Bayside.....it's all about the playoffs. PERIOD! Statement laid. -The Mavs are done. I mean seriously how do you control 46 and half minutes of a game at the loudest arena in the league and blow a late lead?!?! Oh yeah I forgot...this isn't the same Dallas team as the miracle on hardwood we saw last season capture the Larry O'Brien trophy. Game 1's loss I personally expect to be a confidence buster cause I do not expect Kevin Durant to shoot that poorly throughout this series. No sir that will not be happening. I will stick to my pick.....Thunder in 5. -Am I surprised the Magic pulled one out of the hat? A smudge Now unless the Pacers really do shit the bed for Game 2 I still expect Indy to handle business from here on out. Note to Indiana Pacers: You can't go scoreless for the last 5 minutes of a playoff game and expect to be respected in the caliber of the Heat/Bulls/Celtics. Doesn't work that way. 'E' |
