Three weeks into this young season and we finally had a few notable upsets.
I was shocked Wisconsin laid down like they did at home against TCU. In fact I expected then to go unbeaten into late November and make a case for the team playoff. This loss will hurt their chances. Auburn losing hurts but not as bad as Wisconsin’s home loss. Also a few notables before we get into the Week 3 Rankings. Three games into the Willie Taggart and his seat should be and the very least warm. A 1-2 start for the Florida State Seminoles and one can argue should be 0-3 if not for sneaking out a late win over Samford. Yes, I said Samford Clay Helton. The clock is now ticking on your job security. And finally Ohio State is now 3-0 without Urban Meyer. He returns to the sidelines next week following his three game suspension. What a great win against TCU. 1. Alabama We shouldn’t be surprised at this point at Alabama’s dominance. It’s that it seems like through three weeks they are pushing heavily on the gas. I thought maybe Ole Miss could make this game interesting. They were at home. They have played the Tide competitively well the last few seasons. Didn’t matter. The Tide completely dominated from start to finish. 2. Georgia Two weeks ago I stated that Alabama and Clemson were by far the two most dominant teams in college football. I made one mistake though. I should’ve inserted Georgia instead of Clemson. 3. Clemson Only thing Clemson did wrong this week was not cover the 34 point spread against Georgia Southern. But we will let that slide. 4. LSU All apologies should be directed toward head coach Ed Orgeron. All he’s done three weeks into this season is best then #8 ranked Miami on a neutral field and then two weeks beat #7 ranked Auburn on the road. Yes he still sounds like Alex Jones but I have no doubt he’s a much more of a decent guy. THE OTHER 6 5. Ohio State 6. Oklahoma 7. Stanford 8. Notre Dame 9. Penn State 10. Auburn |
