Swagger? The Canes No Longer Have It

Last night's Louisville's 31-13 ass kicking of Miami should've been more about the Cardinals debut of new coach Bobby Petrino but instead served as a reminder just how far the University Of Miami has fallen since their recent championship run in the early 00's.

Look, that "swag" that the U used to proudly flaunt over opponents week after week disappeared once they actually got screwed over by the officials in the National Title game in '02 which led to a Ohio State win. And as the local guy who is die hard Florida State Seminoles fan but hold lots of respect for the history of "The U", I'm going to say the thing all Canes fans don't want to but need to hear...."The U" is over. Those days aren't ever coming back anymore. At least not anytime soon.

The University Of Miami doesn't even recruit the same fashion they use to in their heyday, and for a school that can't even fill stadiums here in South Florida, last night served as a reminder that Canes football just really isn't a priority.

The truth sounds harsh but hopefully after last night, true Canes fans got their wake up call.
