3-2 last week.
12-13 for the season. Mediocrity at it's finest. I have since said on here that my lavish goal of hitting on 70% of my games this season have long gone by the wayside. Doesn't mean I won't strive for 60%. Once again though Vegas has gotten these spreads super airtight. Or maybe it's because I am a slight gun shy on some of these picks. In any case, shooters shoot. I am a shooter. I strive for excellence. I will not be stopped. Cheers to at least a 4-1 week. The comeback starts now. ***HOME TEAM IN BOLD*** New England (-9) vs. Cincinnati The Bengals NEED this game in the worst way. Staring at 2-4 while the Steelers continue to run away with the AFC North isn't what Marvin Lewis planned for this early in the season. The problem is Cincy could not have asked for a worst opponent than the one the face this week. Add to the fact that Tom Brady is more than back. And the contest is in Foxboro!?!? Godspeed Bengals. Carolina (-2.5) vs New Orleans Another team that needs a win in the worst way although the opponent is significantly weaker. Cam Newton should be cleared to go. Even at 1-4 I still think there is strong chance Carolina climbs back into the NFC playoff race. Still think a team or two in the conference may start regressing to the mean. If the Panthers want to turn their season around it starts this week. Plus the Saints -- even coming off a bye are not very good. Let's just be honest. Pittsburgh (-7.5) vs. Miami It is plausible right now to assume the Miami Dolphins are the worst team in all of football. As a result head coach Adam Gase fired half of his offensive line. I respect that. I think Gase is the right guy for the job in the long term. In the meantime that doesn't change the face that Miami stinks. Pittsburgh's really good and should have zero problem taking care of business on the road. Tennessee (-7) vs. Cleveland If you've followed all the recent blogs I've posted or listened to the podcast I've recorded this week you should know by now that doubled down and picked the Tennessee Titans to win the AFC South. I initially was scared to take the Titans with the points here since Cleveland (outside last week) has been very competitive from week to week. Then I was reminded that the Browns are about to be on there what -- fifth quarterback in six weeks!?!? NY Jets (+8) vs. Arizona The Jets are better than their 1-4 record. The Cardinals are better than their 2-3 record. This is an very underrated and intriguing Monday Night matchup. The Cards like the Panthers are on life support. The Jets season may be already done but will be downright cooked with a loss here. This should be a good one. |
