One player who can definitely relate to what Ezekiel Elliott is going through during his contractual dispute with the Dallas Cowboys is newly paid NY Jets RB LeVeon Bell. Bell himself held out the entire 2018 season after not accepting the franchise tag and ultimately betting on himself for a pay day that he ultimately got with the Jets during the offseason. Bell did not mince words regarding the Elliot situation
Now in the case of Bell, whether or not did he did the right thing in letting $14 million of franchise tag money go by the wayside is in the eyes of the beholder. I am however of the opinion that the Cowboys have no choice but to pony up the green for Ezekiel Elliott. He is by far their best and most productive offensive player. Unless Dak Prescott has a absolute breakthrough year the team really does rely on Zeke. It is in my opinion the difference between Dallas winning 10 plus games and losing 10 plus games. I honestly don’t see this hold out going into the season. Jerry Jones will see the light. I’m sure of that. |
