Another episode of randomness and bluntness coming your way for your eyes. Be prepared. •Say what you want about Monday Night’s Virginia/Texas Tech National title game being unwatchable going in. In the end it was quite the opposite. Even better that I didn’t have a horse in the race. Congrats to Virginia on the one year turn around of being the first ever #1 seed to lost to a #16 seed to winning the whole damn thing a calendar year later. •Why can’t Antonio Brown just shut the hell up and move on? He got want he wanted. A trade out of Pittsburgh and new contract. He sounds like a scorned lover that didn’t get his way even though....he actually did. Get over it. •Dallas Mavericks F Dirk Novitzski did actually end up retiring after being showered with appreciation and love throughout a season when at the time he never publicly made a decision on his future. That said, I wish I did appreciate him more especially during his peak years. Most of that had something to do with the weird rivalry with the Heat and Dallas Mavericks fan bases between the 2006 and 2011 NBA Finals that got in the way. Definitely Top 25 all time. One day I’ll do a updated Top 50 list from my perspective. •Rather than do an elaborate write up, I decided to dedicate a singular podcast in saluting the retirement of our own Dwyane Wade from the NBA. •I don’t care how old you get or rich you are, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich still remain clutch. •If you haven’t read the explosive piece from Bleacher Report’s Tyler Dunne on the dysfunctional Aaron Rodgers/Mike McCarthy relationship that dropped late last week it is worth your time albeit 10,000 words plus. You may come away viewing Rodgers who I consider the most talented quarterback of all time in a different light. McCarthy too for that matter. •Word is Hassan Whiteside is considering all options for his final year under contract with the Miami Heat including the nuclear option of opting out his deal and $27 million left to hit the free agency market. Personally I hope he does all of us Heat fans a favor and execute that very option. No more of the pouting and bitching about playing time and why you aren’t getting the ball enough in the post only to become literally a black hole. Now that D-Wade is retired and gone it is all about the kids now. •As I stated on one of my podcast I recorded last week I’ve recently started binging every WWE Raw and Pay Per View from 1997. Just past Wrestlemania 13. Entering April of 1997. Truly fascinating seeing the business slowly transition from ‘The New Generation’ into what eventually would be known as the ‘Attitude’ era.. 1997 to me remains the most important year in that company’s history. •I still need to see Captain Marvel. Avengers: Endgame is around the corner. •Say what you will though, Magic Johnson resigning as President Of Basketball Operations was a blessing in disguise for the team. I say this as a die hard Magic Johnson fanatic. The execution might’ve been flawed and we can continue to harp on that but in the end it may be what saves this franchise. •My favorite time of year is here. The NBA postseason. And no LeBron? No problem. The East playoffs are going to be so intriguing. So intriguing that I believe this year's NBA champion is coming out of this conference. •My NY Mets are off to a solid start. Problem is they started even better last season before falling off a fucking cliff. So I’m holding back my excitement. With Respect, EJ 👍🏾🤘🏾 |
