On the latest episode of HBO’s ‘The Shop’, a barbershop roundtable that consists of athletes and celebrities abroad, All-Pro Wide Receiver Antonio Brown who was just traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Oakland Raiders late Saturday night did not hold back throwing criticisms from everyone from from FS1’s Shannon Sharpe to his now old teammates in Pittsburgh. Specifically QB Ben Roethlisberger. The shots thrown at Shannon Sharpe in my opinion just comes off as weak and makes AB seem soft for not taking what in my opinion was fair critiques.
That said, the criticisms of the Pittsburgh Steelers brass, specifically QB Ben Rothelisberger is absolute fair game. In conclusion of the Antonio Brown era in Pittsburgh, my assessment is there is shared blame to be thrown across the board. In fact one can argue Brown does not nor deserve the brunt of it. Blame should be carved up four ways: -25% for Antonio Brown for his behavior via social media. -25% to head coach Mike Tomlin for not keeping his locker room together which has now become a recurring theme for the franchise. -25% to the Steelers front office for letting it get this far. -25% to Ben Roethlisberger for being a horrendous leader. Bigger picture? Steeler fans today should be relieved this saga is finally over and that the franchise can turn the page to the future. |
