1. WHERE WILL PEYTON MANNING SUIT UP IN 2012?
I'm leaning Tennessee at this point. Of the teams vying for his services, the Titans seems to actually be the best fit. Think about it the Titans are in the AFC South, a division Peyton Manning is extremely familiar with and there are the obvious connections of returning to the place where he spent his college career at. However with the 49ers being revealed that they are the latest participant in the pursuit of Manning, they cannot be counted out especially considering they might be the ultimate fit for Peyton to win his 2nd Super Bowl title. 2. WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE MIAMI DOLPHINS? Being that they the "local" team for me I was rooting for them to acquire the services of one Peyton Manning. With the Fins officially out of the race now Miami needs to do something. The fan base is already frustrated and has been for a a decade now. Logically Matt Flynn would be priority #1 for Miami going forward and while he has a two game sample size of starts to run on, there are still questions whether he is worth the $10 million a year asking price. Miami has to do something regardless. I say take the gamble on Flynn. 3. ARE YOU HAPPY DWIGHT HOWARD IS STAYING IN ORLANDO FOR AT LEAST ONE MORE SEASON?? I'm just happy the melodrama of Dwight Howard's indecisiveness is temporarily on hold for another season. That being said it's nice to see a superstar actually commit to a small town team even it's for the time being in the short term. And while I don't place the Magic in the class of the Heat and Bulls, Orlando can be a very dangerous team come playoff time especially considering how streaky they are from the perimeter. With this whole drama behind the team for now look for the Magic to play consistently better going into the playoffs. 4. WINNERS AND LOSERS OF THE NBA TRADING DEADLINE. Winners: Spurs, Nets, Lakers, Wizards, Warriors Losers: Rockets, Blazers, Celtics, Bucks 5. WITH THE LATEST ROSTER SHAKEUP, HOW MUCH OF A CHANCE DO THE LAKERS HAVE TO WIN THE WEST? With the acquisition of PG Ramon Sessions, the Lakers I believe have figured out a stop gap at the very least in the short term to figure out some of their perimeter defensive problems. While this ain't the Phil Jackson lead Lakers, one thing you have to give Mike Brown credit for is having these guys stay course and continue to play solid defense. And with their own big three of Kobe/Bynum/Gasol, the Lakers WILL pose a lot of problems for every team in the West, including the Thunder. 6. DID THE BUFFALO BILLS OVERPAY FOR MARIO WILLIAMS? For a team that hasn't been to the playoffs in over a decade and has had the string of bad luck in it's history, you seriously cannot blame the Bills front office for paying top dollar for a top tier guy in Mario Williams. The Bills fan base in my opinion are one of the most loyal in all of sports and just get a guy like Williams gives that team and that city some hope for a return to the playoffs. It's been a long time coming. Let's just hope the production outweighs the cost cause the Bills are all in at this point. 7. PHIL JACKSON, THE NEXT COACH FOR THE NY KNICKS? Hard not to at least give it some thought considering it was only a year ago that sources did say Phil Jackson wanted to take a year off and possibly return to coaching. The Knicks would be the ultimate challenge for him and it would come full circle for him. Plus it's no coincidence that the last time the NY Knicks tasted an NBA title, Phil Jackson was on that roster. It's gonna be an interesting summer to say the least. |
